“Death For Dinner” mysteries are performed for the public every Friday and Saturday night year-round, as well as hundreds of private shows every day and night of the week. “Death For Dinner” shows are the Oldest, Longest-Running and Funniest Interactive Mysteries in Colorado. Beginning almost 20-years ago for private parties and corporate events, it soon became obvious to us that public shows were in high demand. Our patented Mysteries have been the hottest ticket in town at hotels, restaurants and local B&B's. After over ten years of sold out houses at a local Mansion, it was now evident that part-time Mysteries were no longer the order of the day. A venue better equipped to meet the needs of our own original and special brand of entertainment was the only answer. Adams Mystery Playhouse opened in the fall of 2006, and is the only “Mystery Mansion” of its kind in the region. The entire first floor was uniquely and specifically designed as a Mystery Dinner Theatre…and if ticket sales are any indication…the public agrees! Adams Mystery Playhouse has the best Comedy Actors, best food and is the BEST Mystery Mansion in town. At Adams Mystery Playhouse, the emphasis is on fun and humor; you'll relish our special brand of comedy, appropriate for all ages and any type of group or corporation. Everything is Politically Correct!

Adams Mystery Playhouse is Colorado's first and only Mystery Dinner Theatre, where you can expect a unique entertainment experience.

Adams Mystery Playhouse features secure off-street parking and is completely handicap accessible. The doors and bar open at 6:00pm, as you are greeted by your host, Carlos Cuellar, and members of his friendly staff. Early arriving guests can participate in the Adams Scavenger Hunt, or have a palm reading in our creepy Séance Room, by Lawrence R. Woodson, renowned Denver psychic. Palm readings are $1 per minute and not included in the ticket price.

Keep your eyes open for suspicious characters, at 6:15pm, as our actors enter and mingle with guests, dropping clues and building intriguing relationships. The Adams Mystery Playhouse's one-of-a-kind Casket Bar is stocked with a large assortment of beer, wine and call liquor, as well as, non-alcoholic beer and soft drinks. Full bar service is available the entire evening. It is a true cash bar and checks and credit cards are not accepted (at the bar).

At 6:45pm, Carlos directs your guests into the intriguing Dining Room Theatre. You'll enjoy a sumptuous buffet dinner of Chablis Artichoke Chicken Breast, Rice Pilaf, Big Field Salad, Fresh Fruit platter, Rolls and Butter, Chef's Choice Dessert, Lemonade and Coffee. Our tables accommodate 10-guests and larger parties are always seated together. The mystery continues throughout dinner, as our "characters" are out mingling through the tables with more incriminating testimony and answering guests' questions.

Once the guests have had a chance to enjoy their dinner, a murder occurs and you are a witness. We take a short break after the crime, giving the guests an opportunity to visit the bar and search the rooms for clues.

The performance continues with different types of entertainment (songs, impressions, etc.) and many other surprises.

Next, the Detective arrives, deputizes the audience, and, with your help, tries to unravel this hysterical mystery.

The show is completely interactive, giving the audience the opportunity to participate as much or as little as they like. Your guests set the tone and the pace of the Investigation, by the questions they ask, and clues they uncover.

After all suspects have been questioned and clues brought to the surface, we break the audience into teams, by table, to vote on WHODUNIT and why. We encourage your guests to come up with creative names and solutions - and they do! It's a great way to create team building and friendly competition. When all the votes are in, the murderer is revealed and confessions are made. Souvenir prizes are handed out to the team who solved the crime!

The evening ends between 9:15pm and 9:45pm. Our shows feature a lot of improvisation with the audience, making it hard to predict exactly when the show will end.

To top it all off, your table eventually becomes a team and votes on who they think did it and why. Hey, maybe your table will get the prize!

We travel to the location of your choice OR we can arrange the entire dinner/mystery package for you. The typical time-line for a mystery dinner is 2 1/2 hours, from the performers' entrance at the beginning of cocktails to the solving of the crime, an arrest and a bow - to a very happy audience. (Timing can be altered to fit your needs.)
