She is also a member of a chamber duo called "Pianoforte & Cello", which performs at receptions together on the piano and cello, or vocals with cello, providing background music together for receptions and business events. Katherine is a member of the Utah Music Teacher Association and the National Federation of Music Clubs. NFMC has annual Festivals for children to perform pieces for judges, giving opportunity to earn trophies and scholarships. Our club is the "Pianoforte Performers. Katherine teaches Nancy and Randall Faber's method to children and adults at beginning to intermediate levels. Now accepting beginning to intermediate students Tuesdays through Thursdays. Music helps develop the brain, improving math and cognitive abilities. Piano playing uses the whole brain. It provides a great foundation for learning music for other instruments (band, orchestra, choir, organ, guitar). Experience Having played the piano for over 30 years, and taught piano lessons for over seven years, let Katherine's method help you or your child learn to play! Her music experience varies from extensive church piano and organ playing to vocal solos, ensembles, choir, choir directing, English handbell, and orchestra. Katherine received a Bachelor of General Studies Degree with an Emphasis in Family Life from Brigham Young University. She currently, formally, studies organ. Rates are reasonable and competitive.
