Dave Laros - Piano Player
310-422-0349 Dave Laros started his professional career at the early age of fifteen, playing as the concert pianist for the Embassy Suites Hotel in Indianapolis. Building a reputation for his piano styling and distinctive set lists (which included early Neil Diamond, Ray Charles, Frank Sinatra and Billy Joel), he started to teach lessons, before at age eighteen moving to Nashville. He got a job as the Lounge pianist for the Fifth Quarter and played originals and crowd favorites night after night to growing audiences for over the next two years. In Nashville, Dave kept busy accompanying local musicians in the studio and on national tours, when he wasn’t playing in lounges or for parties or events. In 2000, Mr. Laros made the move to NYC and immediately got a job playing piano and singing four nights a week on the Upper West Side of Manhattan at an Italian Restaurant named “Favia Lite” for the next three years. The owner and crowds favored him so much, that he would also play at the original location in Hoboken. Dave then decided to put together the “Dave Laros Band”. They were a 4-piece band performing original music all written and arranged by Laros. The band had regular slots in several venues throughout NYC including The Continental, The C Note and The Luna Lounge. In 2002, Dave teamed up with friend, producer/drummer Jay Lillagore and recorded 6 tracks that emphasize Laros's pop-sensibility as a writer and also feature his Billy Joel influenced piano chops. In 2004, Dave was fortunate enough to record with the emerging producer Seth Rothchild from the band Gingersol, who had a unique understanding of the sound Dave was after, and used his intuition to capture its essence. In late 2005, Dave relocated to Los Angeles.
He performs solo around the city, whether as a pianist or accompanying his own vocals, he has been developing a following at the TEN 20 piano bar in West Hollywood and the so-subtly named “Piano Bar” located on Selma in Hollywood. His unique range of influences and songs in his repertoire (ranging from Sinatra classics, to jazz and blues standards of the 50’s and 60’s, to pop/rock (from any era), to adult contemporary and modern, would be too many to mention. But whenever he plays, his talent, professionalism, and passion shine. For more information please call
